There had been about 8 hours since I’d had a decent meal. When I then get a perfectly delicious Italian Hawaiian pizza placed in front of me, the consummation of it is unavoidable. Of course, at a restaurant it’s only logical that the goal is to consume the food. However, when you’re little of size, and the pizza is rather big, the act of taking it all down isn’t necessarily the smartest. Ever heard the expression that your stomach is full, much in advance of the eyes? In this case that involved the taste buds. As a result, while after I stated halfway through it that I could only push down another piece, I ended up leaving only half apiece behind. Stupidity, perhaps. But when you’ve traveled all afternoon, and is finally able to sit down with good food, in wonderful atmosphere, in a country you’ve never been too; you deserve that pizza.
Edinburgh. In advance of this trip I honestly didn’t take too much time doing research, much because I was still living on a high from last weekend’s little, but extraordinary, adventure in London. I quite frankly, wasn’t properly excited about it. But now I’m here, and I love it already. The atmosphere is so nice, all those small shops along the road with neon signs whispering me their names, some small and unfamiliar, while others big and well known. Occasionally these really beautiful buildings peak out from the darkness, they are like souls from another era that watches over you, and all you can do in return is to watch in awe. From the second floor of the bus we’re riding I’m staring into the night, bewitched by all these new sights; I had totally forgotten how it was to arrive at a new unfamiliar place. It’s overwhelming, but in a calm way.
